Physical systems · embedded intelligence · technical leadership

I make ambitious hardware work in the world.

I build connected, resource-constrained machines from first architecture through experimental validation, manufacturing transfer, and team-scale execution.

Capabilities

Across the interfaces that usually break.

Embedded systems

C/C++ · Zephyr RTOS · ARM Cortex-M · Nordic nRF · STM32 · drivers · finite-state machines

Electronic hardware

mixed-signal circuits · component selection · rigid/flex PCBs · power systems · RF matching · laboratory validation

Connected devices

BLE · Wi-Fi · I²C · SPI · UART · mobile/device protocols · cloud data systems

Productization

system architecture · DFM · test methods · reliability · design transfer · V&V · preclinical deployment

Selected work

Systems, not isolated components.

Each example separates what I owned, what the system demonstrated, and what the evidence does not establish.

Embedded bioelectronics · thesis

Commandable ingestible bioelectronic platform

Two design–build–test generations combining capsule-scale electronics, Zephyr firmware, BLE, mobile control, command authentication, power delivery, and electrochemical payload release.

Owned
System architecture, electronics, embedded firmware, wireless integration, power characterization, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Commanded in-vivo release of a viable bacterial payload
  • At least six days of gastric operation with the payload barrier intact
  • Approximately −102 dBm staged in-body receiver sensitivity
  • Months-long always-available BLE telemetry in device studies

Evidence boundary. Residence, authentication, and release were established in distinct experimental traces; therapeutic efficacy was not evaluated. This self-hosted copy is the author’s thesis document pending MIT DSpace publication.

Infrastructure · translational research

Long-duration connected experiment infrastructure

An end-to-end system for remote monitoring and control of custom devices in long-duration large-animal studies.

Owned
BLE hardware, body-area networking, C#/.NET services, cloud databases, analysis interfaces, deployment, and collaborator support.
  • Supported experiments with operating windows up to 100 days
  • Deployed to geographically distributed collaborators
  • Enabled remote sponsor demonstrations and experiment diagnosis

Evidence boundary. Source and study records are not public because they include collaborator and sponsor-controlled material.

Technical leadership · platform engineering

Reusable embedded-device development platform

Shared firmware, protocol, mobile, build, and deployment infrastructure that turned isolated prototypes into systems other engineers could extend.

Owned
Originated the working architecture, defined interfaces, built reference implementations, integrated contributor branches, and coordinated system behavior.
  • Shared C++ behavior across mobile and embedded targets
  • Reproducible Zephyr and nRF build environments
  • Containerized remote compilation and automated flashing
  • Parallel contribution across firmware, sensing, and device-control work

Evidence boundary. Most program repositories remain private; the leadership claim is based on repository history and delivered integration work rather than public commit volume.

Operating pattern

Build first. Create leverage. Scale ownership.

  1. 01

    Make ambiguity executable

Translate a research or product objective into requirements, architecture, interfaces, and a first working reference.

  2. 02

    Interrogate the physical system

Measure power, communication, timing, packaging, and environmental behavior; treat failures as design evidence.

  3. 03

    Create leverage

Turn one-off work into reusable modules, build systems, fixtures, test methods, and documentation.

  4. 04

    Scale ownership

Onboard contributors, decompose subsystem work, review designs, and retain accountability for integrated outcomes.

Experience

From laboratory ambiguity to durable engineering practice.
